Healthcare is a sensitive issue in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. Earlier Kadapa did not have superior medical facilities — serious cases had to go to Hyderabad or Chennai.
YS Avinash Reddy made it his mission to improve Kadapa’s medical infrastructure. He played a significant role in securing funding and attention for the upgradation of RIMS Kadapa — Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences.
Through MPLAD funds, health centers, mobile medical units, and diagnostic labs were set up or supported in many villages through Avinash’s efforts.
When YSRCP was in government, Avinash requested Jagan to build a dedicated super-specialty hospital in Kadapa. Arogyasri coverage patients should be served from Kadapa itself — they should not have to travel far.
Specialized medical camps — blood donation, eye checkup, cancer screening — Avinash regularly arranged in the constituency. Personal presence built confidence among the people.
Avinash believes that only a healthy community can be a productive community. And Kadapa deserves world-class healthcare.
