Today in Andhra Pradesh’s politics, the name YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is not merely the name of a leader — it is the name of a movement. When he made history by winning 151 seats in 2019, the entire world came to know that Jagan is not just a politician, but an idea.
His journey was not easy. After the death of his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Jagan raised his voice against Congress and founded YSRCP. With this party, he walked across all of AP — the 3,648 km Padayatra — in an effort to connect directly with the lives of the poor.
Welfare is in his DNA. Every promise, every scheme of the YSR Congress Party was directly aimed at the poor, the farmer, and women. He transformed these into real guarantees once in power. Jagan believes that the government’s job is not just development — it is also justice.
Andhra Pradesh today is living proof of his governance. Roads, schools, hospitals, or pensions — the work accomplished in Jagan’s 5 years perhaps surpassed what any previous government had achieved.
