The situation of women in Rayalaseema has historically been challenging. Factional violence, limited economic opportunity, and traditional constraints — amidst all this Kadapa’s women lived their lives.
YS Avinash Reddy treated women’s empowerment as a priority. SHG support, skill training, and market linkage — he worked on all three fronts.
Through Avinash’s efforts in Kadapa, women’s SHGs were facilitated in getting cold storage, solar drying units, and processing centers. Now local produce gets better value.
Stitching, weaving, and handicraft training centers for women — Avinash set them up through personal funding and government schemes.
Avinash demanded increased police presence and patrolling for women’s safety from the local administration. In an insecure environment, women don’t leave home for work — security is a prerequisite to empowerment.
Kadapa’s women felt — Avinash is their leader. He listens to them, works for them, supports their dreams.
